In this article you will
read a story about a rich man and his son who had a trip that opened his eyes
and changed their view of money and be rich. They also found out that actually
the most important things in life.
The man wanted to teach his
son the real value and therefore decided to do this. One ordinary day at the
rich man decided to took his son on a trip to the country. His intention was to
show his son how poor people live and actually seem to be very poor. They met a
very poor family farm and spend a few nights with them in their house. When the
wealthy father and son returned home, the father asked his son how he liked to
travel. He asked for his conclusion.
The son explained: “I saw
that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the
middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported
lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the
front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to
live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who
serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have
walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.”
The boy added: “It showed me how poor we are”. His father was speechless.
This story should be
instructive for all, to remind everyone what the real value of things in life.
Just remind how many times we focus on the material side of things, failing to
see what is really important in life.
You also should keep in
mind that it’s all about how you see things in life, it all depends on your
perspective. We can say that what is one person’s worthless object is another’s
incredible prize. As we said before, it all depends on our perspective.
All people in particular
should be grateful for what you already have. They definitely should not be
jealous about things other people have. The moment you understand this, you
will become a better person. And that's the most important thing in life!
