Classified new organ in the human body

The researchers classified the brand new organ in our body, which is all the time they were in front of his eyes but was hiding in the digestive system.

Although the structure of this new body is known, its function is not clear, and his study could be a key to better understanding and treatment of abdominal and digestive diseases.

 Known as the "set" (mesentery), the new organ is found in our digestive system, so far thought to be made of separate, fragmented structures.


 But the latest research conducted at University Hospital Limerick in Ireland, have shown that it is a continuous structure, ie a body. Thanks to this research, already last year medical students are taught that "fold" is a special authority.

What actually works? It's a double lining of the peritoneum - the lining of the abdominal cavity - that spans the intestines to the abdominal wall and keeps them "in place". One of the earliest descriptions of this set was made by Leonardo da Vinci, and for centuries was ignored as a minor element in the body.

Doctors who have studied in the meantime assumed that it is a fragmented structure that was irrelevant.
But starting in 2012, through detailed microscopic examinations established that it is not just the past 4 years and gathered additional evidence to the crease is classified as a separate body.

 It means that now medical students and researchers will explore what role (if there is one) fold play in abdominal diseases, which will contribute to better treatments for patients.
