Studies were made of tuna originating from California,
showed that there was contamination by harmful radiation from the Fukushima
disaster. Every Bluefin tuna caught from California is radioactive.
The Radioactive Tuna
It is quite shocking that since the nuclear melt-through
which occurred at Fukushima Daiichi plant in March, 2011 still there are
radioactive contaminants’ dumping flow in the ocean. Namely, the fish is living
in contaminated environment since birth.
The side effects of contacting with the radioactive
caesium:
After happen contact with radioactive cesium, occurs
individual can experience cell damage caused by radiation of cesium particles.
Because of this, it can get certain symptoms, including vomiting, diarrhea,
nausea and bleeding. Moreover, in case of exposure lasts much longer, patients
may lose consciousness, which may be followed by coma and death in some cases.
The Researchers say:
Researchers say that the evidence is "clear"
and this says tuna that was caught near San Diego about a year, proved to be
contaminated with harmful radiation coming from the nuclear disaster in Japan.
Wall Street Journal in May, 2012 reported on study
conducted by Stanford University (lead by marine ecologist named Daniel
Madigan). Madigan explained: “the tuna packaged up the radiation and then
brought it across world’s largest ocean. All of us were absolutely surprised to
see it and even more so when we saw it in each one that we measured.”
Nicholas Fisher is marine biologist at Stony Brook
University who conducted another study, and he says:
“We saw that
totally each one of them contained similar quantities of cesium 137 as well as
cesium 134”.
