What exactly comprises a jar of Nutella?

The Reddit appear small diagram that shows what has in a jar of Nutella likely to run out of words.


Instead of the finished product we see while we eat, the diagram is displayed and weights which are separated from all the ingredients that make this sweet indulgence, in their original form.

Each jar consisting of palm oil, cocoa, hazelnuts, skimmed milk powder and sugar.

Each layer is an accurate representation of the amount of the ingredients found in a jar of Nutella.

It may be concluded that half of the jar consists only of plain white sugar.


The picture became viral on Reddit where lajkuvana was more than 28,900 times, and this information from the company was neither denied nor confirmed.

But on their official website says that a spoonful of which consists of about 15g Nutella has 8,5g sugar which means that one has about 227,2g jar, which is about half a jar of 400g.

Among other controversial ingredients and palm oil that depends on the texture of the cream and its longevity. Palm oil is the cheapest oil in the market, and if Ferrero, the company that makes this cream, replace it, it will cost an additional 8 to 22 million.

Information on ingredients do not confirm, but one company claiming: "Our product should be enjoyed in moderation. Nutella should be part of a balanced diet. "
